The tidal patterns in Zanzibar can be intense, shifting every six hours. However, the deep water channels near our kite school ensure that you'll always have access to water, even during low tide. The average water temperature is a comfortable 27°C, rising to 29°C in February, so there's no need for a wetsuit—just pure enjoyment in warm, tropical waters.
Kiwengwa's lagoon offers perfect conditions for all skill levels, with a mix of shallow and deep water that caters to beginners and intermediates alike. While the beach may narrow and the water might get choppy at high tide, the majority of the time, you'll find flat water thanks to the protective outer reef. During full moon the light from the moon makes it possible to kite late into the night. For the professional riders, the natural lagoon reef offers fun wave conditions.
