IKO Assistant Training Courses (ATC) 

You need to complete an IKO Assistant Training Course (ATC) before attending the Instructor Training Course (ITC). The ATC is a five-day course taking place the week before the ITC, so you can do both courses back-to-back to gain the full qualification.

ITC prerequisites

You need to have certain levels of experience and some other qualifications before you can come on an (IKO) Kitesurf Instructor Training Course (ITC). The IKO currently requires that you must:

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Kiteboarder Level 4 or equivalent riding level.
• Have a valid first aid and CPR certificate or complete it before the ITC. 
• Complete the AITC.
• Be able to read, write and speak fluently in the language the course is given.

What to bring

• Your own gear to go riding with – kite, harness, board, line cutter, etc.
• Lyra’s and sunglasses and sunscreen. In case you don’t have you may rent or buy at the school
• Helmet and buoyancy
• Writing materials
• A valid first aid certificate. If you don’t have one, we have scheduled a one-day course where you can obtain a first aid certificate
• An Assistant Instructor qualification unless taking the AITC with us
